Day 24: Sweat Intervals
It was a late night Tuesday prepping for a birthday dinner for my mother, not hitting the pillow until well past 11 p.m. Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway) I elected to rest to workout in the evening before the birthday festivities Wednesday. On the docket today: Sweat Intervals. It's a tough one with a lot of moves my body just does not like in the slightest. Couple that with the temperature of my house which, for some reason, was extremely high. It was as if I was doing some sort of Bikram Sweat Intervals. I was dripping within the first couple minutes of the workout.
And, while I was doing the workout, I must have looked like I had too much energy, because I was handed a bunch of toys to add some weight while I was doing one-two-three knee tap, cross jacks, high-knee punches, etc.

I just go with the flow and let the my daughter -- and the toys -- take me to a different level of challenge. Not that Shaun T is easy, but I don't see him dropping weights into the extreme cardio workout like my 22-month-old. I think I may have an aspiring Beachbody trainer to be.
Even with the challenge of Shaun T, the extra-hot living room, my aspiring little trainer and the aroma of cooking black beans, I got ultra focused and made a small goals to reach the water breaks (which come every five minutes). A week ago, I had a Max Out Time of nearly 11 and a half minutes. With my super focus, today, I increased my Max Out time by more than double, clocking in at 23 minutes and 40 seconds.
Maybe that weight at the beginning helped me out toward the end -- I felt lighter. And, for a second consecutive day, I was weep free. As I near the end of Month 1, with the unknown for Month 2 just days away, I'm reaching a level of strength and stamina where I am ready for an increased challenge. For now, however, I'll push through the final two days of Month 1 one day at a time. Next up: Tabata Strength (weekly rematch).
